Our students in 6th thru 8th grade will sit for the TLCR test on Friday September the 5th. Test of Logical and Creative Reasoning (TLCR) is an aptitude test designed to measure logical and creative reasoning skills in the verbal and visual domains.

Unlike achievement tests, which assess what the student has learned, TLCR is an ability test focusing on verbal and mathematical skills independent of coursework or curricula. Therefore, it is a valuable instrument that may be utilized to identify high-potential and/or gifted and talented students who otherwise might be unexplored. In summary, TLCR may provide a measure of your child’s academic promise.

We will use TLCR results as one of the measures for identification and placement, along with teacher recommendation, academic performance, previous achievements, and etc. TLCR will also enable us to adapt instruction to fit the aptitudes and needs of our students.
